In all of this I’m not losing sight of the fact that if not for God I might have ended up on the street like the many kids and young adults begging for food and some prostituting to make ends meet. If we know the circumstances that force some of these people on the street, we would spare a thought for them. I am where I am today purely by the grace of God and the grace of people who believed in me from the word go.

Things falls apart in Taraba... Suntai dissolves Council but Speaker disagrees

The raging political crises in Taraba seems going unabated as the state Governor Mr Suntai has dissolved the state executive council and all other political appointees. This is even as the house of assembly has been polarized into pro and anti Suntai camps with the speaker leading the former whilst the leader of the house is heading the latter group. 

The opponents to the governor maintain that he is incapacitated and thus unfit to rule the state with a challenge to him to address the people of he state if otherwise. On the contrary, his supporters insists that the Governor has taken over the governance of the state haven sent a letter to the assembly intimating them about his return into the country and readiness to assume his duties.  This problem is reminiscent of the former President Umar Musa Yar’adua sickness and the political imbroglio that generated before the famous ‘doctrine of necessity’ by the national assembly which paved the way for the then Acting President Goodluck Jonathan to fully assume the mantle of Leadership of the country. This came after much pressure and protest by the various civil society groups who felt that a cabal had hijacked the governance of the country under the guise that Yar’Adua was hale and hearty.

Lagos terminates concession agreement on Lekki-Epe Expressway

Less than two years into the 30-year Build, Operate and Transfer agreement of the Lekki-Epe Expressway with Lekki Concession Company (LCC), the Lagos State government on Tuesday terminated the agreement with the concessionaire. Following a supplementary budget proposal by the Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, the State House of Assembly has approved N7.5 billion for the state to buy out the concession right from LCC.  Iyanya has signed a three hundred and fifty thousand dollars one year endorsement deal with Zinox Computers. Bus driver and conductor strips naked to avoid arrest by the Police

You might think these guys are insane but they are not... They are a commercial bus driver and his conductor who  stripped naked to avoid arrest by police at the Ikeja area of Lagos... lol.  This created a scene of some sorts within the area which led the policemen to leave the area. Their trick actually worked.

Inspector General of Police MD Abubakar Set To Remarry In September

Nigeria's Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar is set to remarry about a year after he lost his wife, Maryam Abubakar, to cancer in January 2012. The IGP will be engaging in a three-day wedding ritual to a popular 35 year-old Safiya according to sources close to the Mr. Abubakar. The wedding proper will take place on Septemeber 14, 2013.

Mike Ozekhome kidnapped... Rescue attempt fails

                                              

Prominent lawyer and civil rights activist, Mike Ozekhome (SAN), has been kidnapped on Friday evening at the Ehor stretch Benin-Auchi road in Edo state. According the reports, the kidnappers who were in a Toyota Hilux pick-up and a Toyota Camry car shot at the front right-side tyre of the Toyota Prado conveying Mr Ozekhome who was on his way to Estako, Edo State. He was subsequently abducted alongside his driver. 

In a related development, Less than 48 hours after it paraded 44 suspected criminals, the Edo State Police Command on Friday lost four of its men in an attempt to rescue Mike Ozekhome, SAN, from suspected kidnappers. The suspects, who it was gathered succeeded in taking away Ozekhome and his driver, are being trailed by the police, led by state Commissioner of Police, Foluso Adebanjo. Boy flies Arik Air from Benin to Lagos, hiding in tyre hole

A teenager beat airline and airport security at the Benin Airport and sneaked into the tyre compartment of a Lagos-bound Arik plane, where he flew safely to the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, on Saturday morning. There was, however, pandemonium at the airside of the Lagos airport when passengers disembarking from the aircraft saw the teenager as he emerged from the undercarriage (aircraft tyre hole) to join fellow travellers. The adolescent stowaway, identified as Daniel Ihekina, was immediately arrested by security officials at the airport. The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria and Arik Air confirmed the incident.

My affair with Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of COZA Abuja ..... Ese Walter

Wentworth Miller... Prison Break star say he is gay

Prison Break star Wentworth Miller has published a strongly worded letter declining an invitation to attend a Russian film festival in light of the country’s new anti-gay laws. The actor, 41, who confirmed that he is gay publicly for the first time via the letter, turned down an offer to be a “guest of honour” at the St. Petersburg International Film Festival.

He wrote: "Thank you for your kind invitation. As someone who has enjoyed visiting Russia in the past and can also claim a degree of Russian ancestry, it would make me happy to say yes. However, as a gay man, I must decline."

Oscar Pistorius Formally Charged With Murder

Oscar Pistorius was officially charged with murder during a court hearing on Monday as the prosecution revealed it has witnesses who heard a woman screaming before gunshots on the night he allegedly killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.  The details of the police case surrounding the events of last Valentine’s Day were contained in a list of charges formally served on Mr Pistorius on what would have been Miss Steenkamp’s 30th birthday.

As well as the murder charge he faces for shooting the law graduate and FHM model, he will also be prosecuted for possession of 38 unlicensed bullets discovered when police searched his Pretoria home after the fatal shooting. Before the case began, a tearful Mr Pistorius stood in the dock clutching the hands of his brother Carl and sister Aimee, their heads bowed and lips moving in silent prayer.

His trial is set for March 2014.

Akwa Ibom LG Chairman arrested in the US for laundring $82,000

The Maryland State Police Department, USA on Sunday morning confirmed the arrest of the Executive Chairman of Udim local government area of Akwa Ibom state, Mr. Nse Ntuen, for smuggling $82, 000 into the United States without declaring it with the Customs officials both in Nigeria and the US. Nse  Ntuen, the Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), was on Friday arrested by operatives of the Maryland State Police Department at the BWI International Airport, Baltimore. When contacted by our correspondent, Mr. Strike Thomas, an official of the Maryland State Police Department at the airport, said that the suspect only declared $5,000 when he got to the airport, adding that
