President Jonathan awards 5 Million naira to Sydney 2000 Olympics relay team

At last, victory seems to have come the way of Nigeria's relay team at Sydney 2000 Olympics as Thirteen years after they were awarded Silver medals at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, members of Nigeria’s 4×4 Men’s Relay Team had their medals upgraded to Gold on Wednesday by the President following the disqualification of the Unites States relay team who placed 'first' in the race for drug offences. Goodluck Jonathan announced a cash reward of N5m each for the six athletes and N7m each for their two handlers.
